Selecting nodes in the Drawing Window

You can select a node by clicking on its border or tag in the Drawing Window. This selects the corresponding node in the Scene Graph, and also the corresponding node (with its columns and keyframes) in the XSheet. The border (and tag - if shown) also change color to show the type of node you have selected:

There are some restrictions:

Very often, the border and tag you want to select will coincide with other borders and tags. If so, you should repeatedly click over the correct set of borders, which selects each border in succession. Keep doing this until you have selected the correct node; the corresponding tag, XSheet column(s) and Scene Graph node will all become the Selected Columns color (see Setting your color preferences).

Remember that you can also move tags so they no longer overlap; see Moving the tags. This will make it easier to select nodes using their tags.

You can also select a node in the Drawing Window by selecting the corresponding node in the Scene Graph panel (see Selecting nodes), or by selecting the corresponding node in the XSheet panel (see Selecting nodes)). When you do this, the Drawing Window automatically highlights the selected border.
